Terms of Service
Last updated: September 26, 2026
By using XYZebra, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The app
XYZebra is provided as-is, as licensed, with no guarantee of uptime, correctness, or continued availability. It runs entirely in your browser and stores your content locally on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for backing up your own data using the Data & Recovery panel in Settings.
Access codes
Using XYZebra requires a valid license code, which we issue at our sole discretion. Codes exist solely to protect the security and integrity of the app — for example, to discourage unauthorized copies — and issuing, changing, revoking, or reissuing one has no bearing on, and makes no statement about, any person's underlying rights, standing, or conduct. We may revoke any code and issue new ones, at any time and for any reason, entirely at our own discretion; doing so is an operational security measure, not a legal or disciplinary action. Questions about licensing, including requests for a code, can be sent to licensing@xyzebra.app.
A learner code opens the practice workspaces (Search, Check, Sort and Build) and the learner's parts of Settings (Display & comfort, How XYZebra Works, interface language, the Privacy Policy and these Terms). A tutor code also opens Catch, where lessons are captured, and the rest of Settings, including Data & Recovery.
Your content
You own whatever you capture, write, or create in XYZebra. We don't claim any rights to it, and since it never reaches a server we control, we couldn't do anything with it if we wanted to. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to capture and store whatever material you put into the app.
Third-party AI features
If you enable optional AI features, you're supplying your own API key and sending requests directly to that third-party provider (currently Anthropic or Groq). Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms, and any usage or cost is between you and them — XYZebra is not a party to that relationship and is not responsible for their availability, output, or charges.
Acceptable use
Don't use XYZebra to do anything illegal, to infringe someone else's rights, or to try to disrupt or abuse the app or the third-party services it connects to.
No warranty, limitation of liability
XYZebra is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of use, or other damages arising from your use of the app — including data loss from clearing browser storage, browser bugs, or third-party AI provider issues.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms over time. If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
