Kazakh has no graded reader series, so this ladder uses real books instead: children's books, folk tales, translations and the Kazakh canon. They are sorted into ten rungs, from letters to literature. Mark what you're reading, read a lot at each rung, and step up when the signs in each rung's notes are true for you.

Reading should be fun, and fun looks different for everyone. Some people enjoy a book most when they understand nearly every word. Others want a stretch: a new word or two on every page. Pick the books that feel good to you. If one turns into a slog, step down. If it's too easy to hold your interest, step up. Rereading favourites counts, and so does listening along with audio.
Books run from easiest to hardest. The number beside each one is its level: 6.4 sits on L6, a little under halfway up. A * means the level is a guess, because the book hasn't been measured yet.
